JHTET 2026 Eligibility for Primary & Upper Primary Levels

Primary Level (Class 1 to 5) Eligibility
  • Candidates must fulfill any one of the following conditions:
  • Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and completed or currently
  • pursuing a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./BTC).
  • Passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks and completed or appearing in a recognized Elementary
  • Education Diploma course as per applicable educational guidelines.
  • Passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks and completed or currently studying in a
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) program.
  • Passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks and completed or pursuing a Diploma in Special Education.
  • Graduated from a recognized university and completed or appearing in a Diploma in Elementary Education course.

Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8) Eligibility
  • Candidates must satisfy any one of the following eligibility conditions: 
  • Graduation from a recognized university along with a completed or ongoing Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./BTC).
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program.
  • Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and enrollment in a recognized B.Ed. course as per applicable educational regulations.
  • Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and completed or currently pursuing a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) course.
  • Passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks and enrolled in a four-year integrated B.A.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed. program.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in a B.Ed. (Special Education) course.
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks along with a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. program.
